Save our Careers and Connexions Service and Save Our Future

  Please sign the petition to support the UNISON National Campaign to save the careers/connexions service in England. The careers services are on the frontline of beating the recession by helping young people enter training or the labour market. But now – just when we need it most – the service faces deep and devastating cuts.  Quite apart from the impact on the frontline staff, all of whom are very skilled and qualified in working with young people, we are extremely disturbed about the potentially very damaging impact these cuts will have upon the future and wellbeing of the young people. To be substantially reducing the level of support to young people at the very time when more advice and support is needed in these difficult economic times is short sighted.  Young people are the country's future and to reduce the level of support available to them is an act of vandalism.

We call on central  and local government halt the level and depth of cuts to the careers and connexions service.;
